Orange Ginger Cream Sandwiches with Riesling

These are my favorite cookies to make in the winter.  They are crunchy and chewy, spicy and sweet.  I put these in my Christmas boxes one year and everyone has requested them every year since!

The spiciness and citrus notes in these cookies play excellently with orange and floral notes in Riesling.  I prefer a Riesling on the drier side myself but I have heard from others that a sweeter Riesling is better, so I think-to each their own. Continue reading

Dulce de Leche Cookies


I used to think that chocolate chip-potato chip cookies were the prefect late-night-bad-TV cookie, but these cookies changed my mind.  They are sweet and salty, chewy and creamy and they pair amazingly with a sweet stout; perfect for late night reruns of top chef!

To make the dulce de leche filling all you need is a can of sweetened condensed milk and four hours to spare. Continue reading
